End of Summer

Alright - so I wasn't back soon - but I'm here!! How's that? Wow - a month has gone by already - time really does fly. We are into Fall and really feeling it around here - this whole week is in the 70s and no one is complaining about that!! Our summer was the best weather I can remember. The first week it was in the 100s and since then, it has been very mild, not very humid, it has rained every couple of days so the grass is still growing. Normally - we would still be in the at least 90s, humid, grass is dead and we are dying for some rain. I bet our air conditioner has been off for at least the last month in a half. I hope this doesn't mean that we will be buried in snow this winter or we will burn off the face of the earth next summer!

On to the kiddos - Alivia has been in pre-school now for a full month and of course, loving it. She has made new friends and cannot wait to show up each day. She was just surprised by a visit from her Uncle Corey and girlfriend Maki from Hawaii!! They came to surprise my mom for her birthday and we had to make it just as big a surprise for Alivia or I don't think it would have been that way for mom. They got to stay for 5 days and Alivia had Maki playing with her non-stop. Thanks Maki!! There are 4 field trips planned with her school this year and the first will be to the pumpkin patch in late Oct.
Desmon - now 4 1/2 months and was 17 1/2 pounds at his 4 month dr. appt!! Wow - a chubber to say the least. He is still a very happy baby - he is baby talking now, has a little fake cough going on, and is still loving Alivia to death. He is rolling over onto his belly and is very alert. He enjoys seeing the animals walk past and has been watching his Baby Einstein videos. He will get to eat his first "meal" in a couple of weeks - this will be rice cereal, yeah!! After that, its on to the orange veggies, then green veggies, and fruit. It has been really fun seeing him grow and remembering all of the things they do - hard to believe that I have forgotten so many stages but its fun repeating them now.
Hope you all are doing well and enjoy the pics.

Growing

Desmon hit the 3 month mark this week while Alivia is counting the days until she starts her second year of pre-school. We have all adjusted great with our newest family member (Alivia still a little more sensitive than normal but overall doing well). Our summer has been pretty busy - Twan and I busy working, as usual, Alivia has completed swimming lessons, taken a trip to Indiana with my mom for a family reunion, continued her gymnastics each week, gone to vacation bible school, and now is ready for school. Those of you without kids - let me be your warning of these school supply lists you have to buy for your children to show up with the first day of class. Wow - we need a small loan - clorox wipes, paper towels, germx, crayons, snacks, glue sticks, packing tape, ziploc bags, blah, blah, blah. And not to mention, you will be hit up with every fundraiser you can imagine almost every month they are in school. We are lucky that Alivia enjoys being there so much and has learned a lot in the last year - I'm sure we have another great school year ahead of us. Desmon is in full smiley stage - you just look at him most of the time and he has a full grin right back at you. He is making noises when he can get a word in with his big sister around. Hope you are having a great summer - I'll report back soon.

Here We Go

Ok, so really - I started a blog when we just had Alivia - those of you that visited know that I did not do too well at keeping it current. I will do my best to do better now that we have 2 kids. Here goes - Welcome to the blogspot for the Young family and mainly Alivia and Desmon. Here are some stats to keep you informed:
Alivia - Born November 30, 2004 - now 4 1/2 years old - has finished her first year of preschool, in which she loved - has now been taking gymnastics classes for 2 years - completed her first session of soccer this spring - loves to play outside, get dirty, splash in puddles, wrestle with the boys, just very active - loves her brother and is a great helper to mom and dad.
Desmon - Born May 4th, 2009 - now 2 1/2 months old - great baby, he might even be a better baby than Alivia and she was good, maybe other mothers will tell me because this is the second and I knew what to expect? - starting to make cooing sounds - follows Alivia around with his eyes where ever she is, he LOVES her - was 14 pounds at his 2 month check up, yes big!!
Please visit here often and don't hesitate to get on me when you see this has not been updated to fit your needs.
